Frequently Asked Questions

Technically, Japanese is known as one of the most difficult languages to learn. It has three separate writing systems, namely – katakana, hiragana, and kanji. Katakana and hiragana are phonetic alphabets, whereas kanji is pictorially represented – as each symbol represents a concept instead of a sound. The Japanese language also uses verbs at the end of sentences – making it hard for English-speaking kids and young adults. However, in terms of conjugations, pluralization, and usage of tenses – the Japanese language is easier than English.

In about three months, you can maintain a conversation in Japanese with a fair amount of fluency. But this also depends on the holistic nature of your language learning course. At the end of Curiotory’s Japanese course, you will be able to hold coherent conversations pertaining to daily situations, spoken at natural speed, with a native Japanese speaker!

Can you learn hiragana, katakana, and kanji by downloading course material and watching Netflix? Well, sure – anything is possible. But remember that the Japanese language has three complex writing systems – each comes with its nuances. There’s also a hierarchy of politeness that takes cultural awareness to figure out. So, if you want to listen, speak, and understand the Japanese language the right way, sign up right here.

As is the case with any other language, a person’s age has an effect on their ability to learn new ones. But that only means anyone can learn – no matter how old or young they are. Kids and young adults learn faster since they can easier pick up new accents and comprehend new sounds. Adults learn smarter as their attention spans are longer – with a situational understanding of common conversations.

As you may already be aware, the world has gone remote since 2020. Even if the pandemic hadn’t struck, it would have been a matter of time before the learning journeys went the digital route. Because let’s face it – the future of language learning is going to be increasingly contactless. Why? People have lesser time than before to master it. Hence, they rely on virtual platforms like Curiotory to pursue travel and career opportunities from the comfort of their own homes.

Our Japanese curriculum is categorized into six lessons with an introduction to Kanji characters and complex grammar patterns. Once completing the full course, you will be able to read and write Hiragana, Katakana and understand basic grammar patterns – along with daily greetings and expressions.
